Reach your goals, make them SMART.

Hi there! Thank you for taking a few minutes to stop by and hangout for a bit!

 

With one of the most constant aspects of life being change, I thought I would take this opportunity to take about goal setting, specifically SMART goal setting and how this tactic can be instrumental for us to facilitate intentional change as opposed to just letting things happen to us.

 

You see, life goes quick! And before we know it, days have passed, weeks have passed, even years. And if we just let life happen, chances are we might feel a bit like Bill Murray in Ground Hog Day.

 

Which brings me to SMART Goals… I break down what SMART stands for in this vlog: Specific, Measurable, Action-Oriented, Repeatable, and Time-Bound. I then go into an example of how we can take a generic goal and turn in into SMART goal.

 

SMART goals are a way to keep us accountable, focused, and on track. In addition they allow us to focus on the process versus the outcome. This is another point in the vlog: choose process oriented goals over outcome oriented goals. By doing so, we are invested in the process and establishing a lifestyle rather than just focused on result, which can be a fleeting moment.

 

Here’s to setting goals, getting focused, and seeing some self-directed change happen!
